Hey, guys.  Hardcopy here with the November issue of Wrestling in the 21st Century.  This is the first time I'm trying this out on Blogger after it moving it from a forum based group, and we'll see how it goes.

Remember that this was written originally on November 3 so the Turning Point PPV for TNA wasn't aired yet if you are reading this after Nov 9.

THE NEXUS ONTO GLORY
Unless you have been living under a rock or just haven't been watching WWE, Cena was forced to join the Nexus after losing his match at a PPV a few months ago.  Now Survivor Series is coming up soon, Barret is going against Orton once again.  He won the match against Orton at Bragging Rights but didn't gain the championship over a DQ by Cena.

While people can argue if the storyline is getting slightly bitter on RAW, I would have to disagree.  Although I do love how the Undertaker and Kane storyline is progressing, I do get more excited watching RAW instead.  I really do like the idea of the Nexus; it's like watching the Spirit Squad back in the day except instead of having men run around as male cheerleaders, these rookies are also revolutionizing the business and the storyline with something different.

While Wade Barret is probably one of the most impressive rookies out of Nexus, the way he established his character from the start of the organization was absolutely beautiful.  His mic work is fantastic, and his wrestling doesn't fall short of that either.

Adding John Cena was a shock to most of us at first, but if you think about, he was basically required to have to act on making this storyline more juicy.  A few fans I have talked to explained that they predicted the Nexus will fall as soon as Summerslam will end, but they are just growing in numbers.  With the addition of Husky Harris and Michael McGillicutty, who were the best heels in NXT Season 2, they are basically up to the point of becoming unstoppable at least for another six months.

Now that Gabriel and Slater are the Tag Team Champs and Darren Young is in his singles competition on Superstars (for the most part), people are questioning what's going to happen to bring the Nexus to an end.  Here are a few predictions that I have thought of without the use of a dirt sheet.

  • Skip comes back and causes a change.
  • Traver returns with or without Skip and causes a change or goes onto singles competition.
  • David Otunga quits or takes over Nexus.
  • Cena takes over Nexus (most unlikely possible).
  • Orton is dragged into Nexus or breaks up Nexus.
One thing that I think will most likely happen is Nexus will be challenged somehow and will break up over the appearance of the RAW General Manager.

THE RAW GENERAL MANAGER

We have so far been experiencing no leads onto who the RAW General Manager is yet.  Before when this concept first started, we have been receiving e-mails from this person without any names but a bunch of clues, that were using different mottoes and one liners from other past superstars.  There is an agreement with the fans that we possibly won't find this out until Wrestlemania.  But a few of us can't wait until then.  These are a few ideas of who it could be.

Some believe that The Rock is the new GM.  Personally I can understand why some fans would think this because he was "supposedly" going to be a guest host for 2010.  We still have a few more weeks until this year ends, but so far he hasn't been here, and if he were to guest host, it would make sense since he would be giving publicity to his new movie Faster.

Others think that Triple H has a shot, but the only reason I can really think of that could explain his absence from the WWE is his involvement with the Linda campaign in Connecticut.  But because that has ended or is at least coming to a complete close soon, he could return sooner than you think.  He was present at the Fan Appreciation Day event in Hartford, CT, but because it was a house show and wasn't aired, he is still not anywhere in the storyline.

Vince McMahon is out of the question unless he has a huge ass trick up his sleeve.  In the episode of RAW that was aired in Nov 1, he was shown just waking up from a coma, but then it segmented into Stephanie waking up from a dream.  So whether happened isn't explained yet.

To me there are only two possibilities.  Either Jim Ross is pulling the strings or Shawn Michaels.  Jim Ross seems to be a better pick because he has been gone longer than HBK, and if he did come back, he would know how to handle everything like a GM.  Plus he could have a pretty awesome segment with Michael Cole, whose ego just keeps getting bigger and bigger by each week.  HBK, sure, it is possible, but he has hung his boots up for about half a year already.  If he were to come back as the GM, then I wouldn't imagine him being back until next Wrestlemania so it's been at least a year of retirement.  I do think he will come back one day, but I'm not completely sure when.

MATT MORGAN'S RETURN TO SINGLES COMPETITION
Personally I am EXTREMELY excited over this.  Although it hasn't been a really long time since Matt was on his own before joining Fortune, it has been even longer that he has returned to being a babyface since his break up with Hernandez when they were having competition for their tag team titles.

In Oct 28 Kennedy was scheduled to have a match against Jarrett after having a concussion from his attack the week previous.  Morgan came out to express his feelings over it, and bottom line claimed that fighting someone with a concussion, let alone a match where he has to keep one arm tied, is too extreme.  He rebelled against Fortune and announced on Reaction that he was "better off doing singles competition".

To me this means two things: 1) Morgan is a face again, 2) Fortune is starting to tear down.  Don't get me wrong, I think Fortune is a great idea, but with the new regime in affect, the sides don't seem to be balanced well at all.  But with all the character change going on, there are some story lines occurring.

3D'S RETIREMENT

It is announced, and it's official,  3D is retiring after their match with the Motorcity Machine Machine Guns for the Tag Team titles at Turning Point.  What makes this match seem to be the most appealing to fans is how it came out more low key compared to the other rivalries and how there were no hard feelings between anyone so far.  This didn't spawn out of a storyline; just a simple "hey we want one last match" request.

While it is true that this team has seen the face of the world and owned it with their skills, the Dudley's do have to continue on with their lives so in a way it's not really the end.  They still have their wrestling school to run along with their families and personal lives.  I wouldn't doubt that they would leave forever, but I'm just surprised that their last match isn't really getting a lot of publicity as compared to some retirement matches that a few other wrestlers had (such as Shawn Michaels for one).

The Guns is their best option to go with.  Gen Me is not developed enough in TNA to handle a match like this, Beer Money is too tangled with Fortune to not make this match more simple and angle free as possible, and Ink Inc had just formed.  Despite Ink Inc's fairly new appearance, I did hear a few comments that it would be interesting to see 3D have a retirement match against someone they trained personally, but they also had a feud and storyline with Jessie before the huge ECW move into the business.  The Guns are fast, clockwork, and coordinated like 3D so they should promise for a magnificent performance.  No doubt this will be a heart touching and well appreciated match.

So there you go, the world is waiting for one of the best retirement matches in TNA history, the RAW GM is still going to appear eventually, we've got one of the best story lines happening on RAW thanks to Nexus, and Matt Morgan is welcomed back to singles competition.  Before I leave you all, here's some coffee Pinfall Talk for the completion of the month of October:
  • Katarina Waters will be debuting shortly on TNA under her new ring name Kat La Noir.
  • Smackdown has come to SyFi and NXT goes up for live streaming on wwe.com
  • Goldust and Aksana were married on NXT, and he still has DiBiase's belt.
